What this service is

whats@inthat is a consumer transparency tool that scores beauty and skincare products based on their ingredients, third-party certifications, and price positioning. We provide information to help you make informed purchasing decisions.

We are not a medical service, dermatological practice, or clinical advisor. Our scores are informational assessments, not medical diagnoses. Consult a healthcare professional for medical concerns about ingredients or skin conditions.

Your account

• You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• One account per person. Automated account creation is prohibited.
• You must be at least 16 years old to use this service.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Spam our inbound scan address with non-product content.
• Scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract data from our catalog or scoring outputs.
• Abuse shared shelf URLs for commercial purposes (e.g., affiliate farms).
• Attempt to reverse-engineer our scoring algorithms for competitive use.
• Impersonate other users or misrepresent your identity.
• Use automated tools to submit scans at a volume that degrades service for others.

Free and paid plans

• Free plan. Limited shelf capacity (10 products), access to Safety, Ethics, and Value pillars. No payment required.
• Paid plan. Unlimited shelf, Personal Fit pillar, conflict detection, routine advice. Billed monthly via Stripe. Cancel any time from Settings with immediate effect.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers. Price changes never apply retroactively to the current billing period.

Scoring accuracy

Our scores are computed algorithmically from the best available public data (CosIng, SCCS opinions, IARC classifications, certification databases, retailer pricing). We strive for accuracy but cannot guarantee:

• That ingredient lists are complete or current (formulations change).
• That all certifications are verified in real-time.
• That prices reflect the exact amount you will pay at checkout.

Scores are our best assessment, not a guarantee of safety or quality. Use them as one input in your decision-making, not the sole determinant.

Affiliate links

“Where to buy” links are affiliate links. We earn a commission when you purchase through them. This commission never influences product scores. We disclose this relationship on every page with buy links.

Intellectual property

Our scoring methodology, UI, brand, and original content are our intellectual property. Product ingredient data is sourced from public regulatory databases and brand disclosures. Product names and brand names belong to their respective owners.

What we guarantee

• Honest scoring, free from brand influence or affiliate pressure.
• No dark patterns at cancellation. One click to cancel, immediate effect.
• Data export and deletion on request, without a support-ticket gauntlet.
• Transparent methodology, publicly documented.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of our service, including but not limited to adverse reactions to products you purchased based on our scores. Our scores are informational, not prescriptive.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, we delete your personal data per our privacy policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
